Choose what the overview shows
Show real floors, today’s room schedules, announcements, or a focused combination.
Before you begin
- Use a device configured for Overview and the intended project.
- Check the assigned floors, zones and floor-plan images.
- Check the connection state before treating availability as current.
Product design guide: these are the required Signage workflows, not a claim that every step exists in the reviewed overview branch. Check the rollout guide and your installed build before use.
Step by step
Choose the floor coverage
Use real floor and zone assignments. Let the display rotate floors automatically, or pin one floor during setup. A resource kind such as Meeting or Gym is not a floor.
Choose the visible panes
The floor plan and room details/schedule are independent. Keep both on for the default overview, or hide either one. With both hidden and ads enabled, the screen becomes ads-only. These display choices are setup options; the everyday overview stays read-only.
Read the room and today’s schedule
Show the room name, written status badge, meeting title and booker where available. The target day view combines Spaze bookings with ingested Outlook and Google schedules. Status follows the reservation window; it does not prove that someone is physically inside.
Continue on your phone
If the overview includes a QR, its label is Scan to book and its destination is the member booking URL for that resource. Confirm the room and available time on your phone. This QR is not a visitor access credential and does not unlock a door.
You’re ready when
People can identify the actual floor, read the relevant room schedule and use the correct booking destination.
Troubleshooting
- A floor is named after a resource type
- Check whether the display still uses the reviewed kind-based overview feed. Integrate signage_places and real floor/zone relations before presenting the screen as an actual floor directory.
- The floor plan is hidden
- Check the saved plan switch and that the assigned place has a usable floor-plan image. A deliberately hidden plan is not a missing-data error.
- The schedule differs from Outlook or Google
- Check calendar ingestion, resource matching, the project’s local day and data freshness. Do not treat an external calendar invitation as proof that the display has ingested it.
Common questions
- Can the floor plan and room list be hidden separately?
- Yes, that is the required Overview design. Both are on by default; plan only, rooms only and ads-only are supported target arrangements.
- Can I open a door or join a meeting here?
- No. Overview is a read-only directory and booking handoff. Door access and in-room session actions belong to their own device modes.
- Does Overview show today or just the next booking?
- The target is today’s schedule per room, with current and next context. The reviewed overview primarily highlights the current or nearest upcoming reservation; validate the complete day view in the installed build.
